Mike Larsen Auction

Leave The Ladder Down.

“When you become successful, you leave the ladder down for other to follow up behind you. Michelle Obama said, ‘When you walk through that door of opportunity, you do not slam it shut behind you. No, you reach back and give other folks the same chances that helped you succeed.’ This is something our family has always believed in.” -Dr. AnnMaria De Mars

Embracing her family value of leaving the ladder down, Ronda organized a charity auction where she autographed items to help Michael Larsen in 2014. Michael is an athlete of the Blind Judo Foundation with a rare eye disease leaving him blind, later deaf, and bullied. Mike has since learned to overcome his disabilities with training in Judo under the coaching leadership of legendary Coach Willy Cahill. Michael was also ranked number one in the visually impaired division and was also in 2013 ranked number one in the Masters division where he was the only Blind Judo Athlete.

The funds Ronda raised went towards tournaments in Brazil and training camps for the Senior Nationals which were the trials for the world team. After that, a training camp in Japan, the US Open in August, and the world championships in November. Also, the Continental Crown in Seattle Washington state where Michael hopes to attend the Presidents cup where he won gold in 2012, and Silver in 2013.
