Team GFC was well represented this past Friday at the Lights Out Promotions Fight Night MMA event held at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, CA. Although only two of their three fighters left with a victory, they all showed pure dominance at will.
Levon Sargsvan was the first member of Team GFC to enter the ring. Levon was pushing forward and having his way it seemed with Ron Henderson for the majority of their fight. Unfortunately an ill timed knee and head-kick resulted in his disqualification.
Alfred Kashakian showed off his dominant striking as he dropped David Hernandez early in Round 1. The only thing more impressive then Alfred’s striking was his perfectly executed backflip while celebrating is 1st round KO victory.
Last up, was the much anticipate fight between GFC’s “Golden Girl” Jemyma Betrian and Chandra Engel. Even though Jemyma traditionally fights at Strawweight, this fight took place in the women’s Flyweight division. Jemyma established the center of the ring early in the fight, however Engel did manage to land an early take down. Even from the bottom, Jemyma was on the offensive. She manoeuvred herself into an armbar submission attempt which almost won her the fight. From the ground, she showcased some powerful striking and leg strength that allowed her to get back to her feet. At this time her striking took over. Shortly after getting back to her feet, she landed a vicious head-kick that ended the fight midway through Round 1. Jemyma now improves her professional record to a perfect 2-0, and if she wasn’t on your radar before we think you should watch this video and reconsider.
