[qa question=”What were some of the things you found most rewarding about living in the TUF18 house and the experience altogether?”] TUF was one of the most rewarding and life changing experiences I’ve ever gone through. I love fighting. I love everything about it. And being on a team with seven other fighters who are motivated to be the best in the world just as much as I am was incredibly inspiring. Every day in training I was pushed to perform at my best. In the house we were provided almost everything we could possibly need or want (food, supplements, training, massage therapists, chiropractors, etc). If fighting is the most important thing in your life, then the TUF experience is like a vacation. Yes, it sucked to be cut off from your friends and family, but it did help with maintaining focus. Everyone in that house had a lot of commonalities so it was easy to form bonds with those people. I came away from the experience with some really great friends.[/qa]
[qa question=”In the episode 3 teaser of TUF 18, Miesha says to Ronda ‘you don’t even know how to throw punches’… thoughts?”] Let Miesha go ahead and think that about Ronda. Just because Ronda doesn’t need to throw punches to win every fight she’s ever had (in the first round, no less) doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to throw them. [/qa]
[qa question=”Ronda and Marina have their ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ exit strategy all worked out. How would you survive?”] Having a team is important. I’ve got my bug out bag ready and I know who I want at my back! It’s all about being prepared.[/qa]
[qa question=”Mental toughness goes a long way in sport. What are some of the things you do to make sure you are in the optimal mindset before a fight?”] I believe that the mental aspect of this sport is JUST as important, if not more so, as the physical aspect. You can be the most technically proficient, strongest, and best conditioned fighter in the world, but if you’re mentally weak, none of that matters in the fight. So I have always put a lot of effort into strengthening my mind for fighting. Positive affirmations are extremely important. Keeping yourself away from negative trains of thought and surrounding yourself with people who keep you in a mentally resourceful state are all vital to your success.[/qa]
[qa question=”If you could sanction a UFC fight where weight classes didn’t matter between any fighters past or present who are in their prime. Which two fighters would you want to see fighting 5 rounds?”] I know it’s been said before, but a fight I would personally love to see would be Jon Jones vs. Anderson Silva. They are both incredible fighters with an exciting style of striking and grappling. Because they are both long, rangy fighters I’ve always tried to emulate their style. I would love to see what would happen if they were to pit their skills against each other. [/qa]
