Yesterday the UFC announced 2 more fights that are being added to the UFC on FS1 2 card featuring Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann. Sarah Kaufman will make her UFC debut against Sara McMann who is coming off the UFC 159 1st round TKO win over Sheila Gaff. A lot of people would like to see McMann face Ronda, but there is a long list of people who want to face the champ. And we know Cat Zingano has technically earned the right, but depending on her recovery might need to get a fight or two in before facing the biggest test of her life inside the Octagon.
Even though McMann is 5 years the elder of Kaufman, her age won’t play a factor in this fight. Providing her training and conditioning is still at a high level, she knows this fight is important to her for 2 reasons. A chance at a future title shot, and that losing this fight will force her to climb the ranks for another chance. And we all know that sometimes that can take over a year or more. Kaufman on the other hand has shown time and time again she can endure a battle and take it the distance with 6 of her last 8 wins going the distance.
So we wonder, will McMann try and out-wrestle Kaufman where she has shown weakness in her 2 losses, or will they stand and strike where Kaufman undoubtedly is more comfortable?
